Lisa successfully defended her dissertation on March 29, 2019. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in May and is thrilled to achieve a lifelong goal as an academic instructor and researcher. She began disseminating her research findings on June 2019 in Vermont to the classroom teachers, instructional support staff, and related service providers who participated in her 12-week dissertation study.
In July 2019, Lisa, her husband Steve, and their two cats said good-bye to friends in Durham-Chapel Hill, North Carolina and traveled to Southern California to begin their next adventure. Lisa was hired as an Assistant Professor in the Communication Science and Disorders Department at California State University Fullerton and has begun building an interdisciplinary Augmentative and Alternative Communication program. Lisa continues to develop inter-professional relationships by expanding the department’s community outreach for AAC education and service, introducing undergraduate and graduate students to AAC experiences, and offering excellent pre-service AAC education.
Outside of pandemic-times, Lisa also enjoys traveling, visiting family and friends, and getting in a little hiking whenever possible.
